Art, especially performance art such as music or drama, can carry a message that simple words cannot. Directed well, this can inspire action, spark new insights, and create endless opportunity. Emerging Ecology partners with individuals and community groups to deliver high quality performances laced with insight into the universe, spirituality, and shaping the future of Planet Earth. Emerging Ecology understands the importance of singing to build a common perspective within a group.
Emerging Ecology is interested in working with performers who share its awareness of the human place in an expansive Universe. The poem Midsummer Moon has been written with the intention that it could form the basis of a staged production. Midsummer Moon was originally written as a part of a set of poems entitled "Epic Narratives".
Our songbook -- Singing For Mutual Enhancement (Updated 8/19/20) -- draws from many traditions and sources. Many of the songs include new words to familiar tunes.
Three of the songs have been recorded and are now available on-line; these include:
- In Common Task: About the discipline of working together to build the future, sung by Eileen Howard
- Rap On Trouble: About the importance of building a worldview founded on the principles of an emerging reality
- Uwharrie Mountain Legacy: The long-term history of the Uwharrie Mountains
